Understanding the challenges faced by smaller AYUSH Hospitals and day care centers in implementing full accreditation standards, NABH has developed Entry Level AYUSH Centre standards. These standards, formulated with contributions from experts, stakeholders, and NABH’s technical committee, align naturally with general Hospital Standards while maintaining a community focus.

Outline of AYUSH Entry Level Centre Certification Standards:

  1. Access, Assessment, and Continuity of Care (AAC)
  2. Care Of Patient (COP)
  3. Patient Rights and Education (PRE)
  4. Infection Control (IC)

2. Organization-Centered Standards:

  1. Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
  2. Responsibilities of Management (ROM)
  3. Facility Management and Safety (FMS)
  4. Community Participation and Integration (CPI)

Eligibility for AYUSH Hospital / Centre Certification:

  • AYUSH Centres/Clinics: AYUSH therapy facilities (excluding inpatient services) including Clinics, Polyclinics, CHCs, PHCs, and Dispensaries.
  • AYUSH Hospitals: a) Government AYUSH Hospitals (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa Rigpa & Homoeopathy). b) NABH accredited AYUSH Hospitals. c) Teaching hospitals attached to AYUSH colleges recognized by relevant authorities. d) Any AYUSH Hospital for inpatient care and day care therapeutic procedures/interventions, meeting these criteria: i) Minimum of 05 in-patient beds. ii) Round-the-clock qualified nursing care (AYUSH therapist). iii) Round-the-clock qualified AYUSH practitioner in-charge. iv) Dedicated AYUSH therapy sections. v) Maintains daily patient records accessible to insurance representatives.
